I was raised by divorced parents, one in a cult and the other a spiritual pluralist. I hated God and "evolved" into atheism and was a sincere enemy of God. Seventeen years ago Christ Jesus regenerated me.

Married fourteen years. Three kids. Born and raised in Northern California, now in the West Valley deserts of Arizona. By day I am a principal software engineer; by night and early morning I am your average slow reader of Scripture, theology, church history, philosophy, & fantasy. Not as a scholar but as a normal guy who wants his life to match what he claims to believe, and thus, must know what that is.

The Practical Pilgrim is where that work happens messily with great imperfection: Frank reviews, probably awful essays, and thinking-in-progress as I ultimately try to apply the Bible humbly, confessionally, and without pretending to be further along than I am. Reformed and confessional, held to the Westminster Standards, and grateful for the dead men who did this for His glory and our sake.

“Make thyself all simplicity.”
